First of all, my name is Pastor Khedi Tom Bukenya and I was born on the first of May 1984 in a village called Oyengolwedo, Olyet parish, Awei sub-county, Alebtong district which is in Northern Uganda.
Both of my parents were immediately killed after my birth and I was bottle fed in Abako Children's home by a missionary called Tom Reinecke and his wife Nancy Reinecke but the project came to an end in 1995 when I was just in Primary seven. Tom and Nancy Reinecke are in their home in Knoxville, Tennessee- USA.
After the end of the project of orphanage, another welwisher took over me and sponsored my studies in Ordinary level until when I sat my exams in 2001. I the struggled to get me to the next level of education at Advanced level on my own but after dropping out for quite some years. It had been a very difficult road for me to get this done on my own.
I am very thankful to Daddy God that although I did not go far with my education to the university level though admitted to one, He has allowed me attain a level of education which is a minimum level of qualification for one to contest and be voted into the leadership in this country as a member of parliament or a president.
The Lord was also able to allow me marry a very beautiful wife by the name Joan Bukenya and we are living so happily in our marriage as the Lord blessed us with three precious children ie Gerrard 8 years, Tracy 7 years and Deborah who is commonly known as May.
God called me into his service basing on the life background given above. As a person who saw the mercy and the love of God and how he brought me up, the Spirit inspired me to join the Lord's work by initiating a ministry as a way of thanking him for all that he has done in my life.
I and my wife Joan prayed earnestly to Daddy God to enable us get a suitable name for the ministry and God gave us the name we are now using as River Rock Ministries and it was established in 2011.

From this pic, Pastor Tom when he was still at Abako Children's home under the care of Tom and Nancy Reinecke. Nancy was giving out clothes to the orphans at their home. His heart towards raising the orphans came as a result of him being raised up by these missionaries and now he wants to build up an orphanage home, a school, health center and a decent church for the orphans in Northern Uganda!!!!
Pastor Tom on his sick bed at Ayira Nursing home in Lira after thugs broke into his home in Anai Ober which is in Lira sub-county, Lira district in Northern Uganda. Tom underwent many difficult situations but God kept him safe by making him go through them all!!! The servant is highly blessed by Daddy God and he says come rain or sunshine he will serve the Lord.

We had for long been suffering from the trauma caused to us by some of our richest neighbors as they could always go on laughing at us and rebuking us as the poorest family that was very unfit to be near them and that we could not compare our class to theirs. They could even go ahead breaking the legs of the chickens my babies were raising for buying scholastic materials for their studies but we would not say a word and could just keep quiet even when we see them harming our chickens. We even never thought of reporting the matter to any authority but we were just on our knees praying to Daddy God.
The Lord answered our prayers in a way that we never expected and it was again very painful to us because He took away the head of that family by claiming his life in a road accident, a thing that we never asked God to do to them. When we heard about the death of our neighbor, me and my wife Joan were the first to arrive at their home and made sure that we did everything possible to have him laid to rest.
The Lord used the death of this precious brother as a uniting factor for us all and from that time to now we are living in peace with all our neighbors and we do share things unlike when the devil was still in full control over their lives.
I would like therefore to humbly advice all you friends who may chance reading this message to try to be at peace with all your neighbors and everyone around you. Put in mind that even if you have everything you need for your survival there still should be something that you may be lacking which a poor neighbor may be having for you to go and borrow from him or her.
It is the Lord who gives and it is the same Lord who takes away from us if we use whatever He has given us in a way that does not please him. Hope you have picked something from this testimony and will use it to show love to those around you regardless of their financial status.
